We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Fabrication Technician to join our Networks team in Eagle Farm reporting to the Supervisor Fabrication Services on a permanent full time basis.
The Fabrication Technician role works within the Fabrication Services team which facilitates the fabrication, welding and construction of all gas metering assemblies and district regulating stations along with various other pipeline assemblies.
You will be exposed to varying and challenging tasks with the objective of supporting other APA functions and meeting customer requirements, with a proactive and supportive team approach. Ongoing training will be provided to meet APA and Statuary requirements along with an appreciation for the successful candidates career objectives and goals.
On a day to day basis, your responsibilities will include:
Regulator & Meter set construction to the supplied drawings and appropriate Australian Standards and department procedures
Safe and efficient installation (field) and assembly (internal) of metering facilities to the relevant standards and APA Group procedures
Perform general manufacturing to supply inventory for APA Group stores
Operate under established APA Group safe systems of work and department procedures
Liaise and communicate effectively with other departments and customers to co-ordinate the installation of metering equipment
To excel in this position you will have the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:
C Class driver’s license (essential)
Trade Qulaifications in Gas Fitting or similar Engineering background (preferred)
Experience in a quality environment using national standards and codes
Ability to fulfill manual work requirements of the position
Good written and verbal communication as well as the ability to follow instructions
Confident use of hand tools and mechanical equipment
Good computer literacy
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Minimum 3 year operational experience in the gas industry or a similar industry (preferred)
Special Requirements
From time to time may be required to work overtime
Required to work outside of normal working hours and at short notice
