They are currently recruiting for the position of Pipeline Field Civil/Geotechnical Engineer, based on 6/2 rotation in Azerbaijan.
Job Description
Provide Civil and Geotechnical support to the pipeline construction team in Azerbaijan and Georgia.
Ensure works are undertaken in accordance with contract engineering requirements, per the agreed plans, procedures and specifications.
Interface with site based Lead Pipeline Engineer, Civil and Geotechnical Team Lead and other company specialists, construction contractor as well as engineering design contractor.
Review and endorse contractor temporary works design
Review contractor method statements to ensure construction proposals and temporary works do not compromise safety of the original design intent.
Ensure contractor works are in accordance with contract engineering requirements.
Provide responses to site engineering queries relating to subjects such as, but not limited to: Earthworks and temporary slope stability; Foundations for block valves and other pipeline above ground installations; Excavatability; Drainage; Sustainability of fill materials; Blasting and rock processing
Review contractor temporary erosion control design (during construction) and permanent restoration design.
Specify/design/approve gabion and/or rip rap civil protection works at crossing locations of roads, gullies, small rivers etc.
Contribute to survey of river crossings by company specialists.
Demonstrate HSE participation by actively engaging the company site team and contractors with actions that contribute to delivering on company's HSE expectations.
Skills & Experience
This position requires previous experience in providing civil and geotechnical engineering support during construction of a major pipeline project.
Degree in Civil Engineering
Considerable, preferably extensive experience of engineering and pipeline installation in oil and gas construction
Experience in soil slope erosion and site restoration of pipeline footprints
Experience in temporary works design including earthworks, suitability of fill materials and slope stability.
This is a permanent position.
The salary for this position is negotiable.
