Our client is one of the world's largest energy companies employing over 80,000 personnel and operating in over 100 countries worldwide with expertise covering a range of energy sources.

They are currently recruiting for the position of Senior Operations Advisor, based on 28/28 rotation in Basrah, Iraq.

Job Description

Provides operational and maintenance expertise and site specific knowledge of operations.
Establishes and maintains interfaces with Team Leaders, OSMs, AOMs, contract/contractor management and other groups as needed.
Facilitates communication between the Operations group, PSCM, the Backbone Team, and any other groups as may be required.
Ensures that assigned project objectives and scope are clearly defined and communicated to all parties.
Responsible for coordinating Operations input to concept developments, evaluation and selection ensuring that maintenance and operability issues are adequately addressed.
Adapt the proposed concepts in a way that satisfies the operations and maintenance strategies.
Ensures all high-level risks are identified.
Provides Operations input in development of contracting strategies in all areas of operations.
Review of the scopes of work, terms of the contract and RFPs are a key function.
Work with PSCM to establish the guidelines for development and implementation of the Operations Support Team (OST). This team will provide feedback on contract/contractor performance and make recommendations on continuous improvement. The Senior Operations Advisor meets regularly with the AOMs, OSMs, MTLs, OTLs, Field O&M TLs, etc.
Ensure project scope and status awareness is ongoing and up-to-date.

Skills & Experience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working in an oilfield operation/maintenance environment.
Experience working in operations/maintenance supervision/ management.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and MS Office software?s.
Self-directed individual requiring minimal supervision.
Develops collaborative relationships and contributes to team success.
Actively participates as a member of a team to move toward goal completion.
Ability to work under time constraints while meeting timelines and deadlines.
Good interpersonal skills for interaction with client base.
Proficiency in MS Visio, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.
Experience in heavy industry, preferably operations/management of Oil and Gas.
Working knowledge of contracts and contracting principles.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Post-secondary education in a technical discipline preferred.
This is a contract position.

The rate for this position is negotiable.
