They are currently recruiting for the position of Service Engineer - Piping & Mechanical, based in Delft, the Netherlands.
Job Description
Our client is looking for Service Engineers to help establish and grow a robust, new Unit Services within the Technical Department. The Technical Department is a service entity within the company whose objective is to support the vessels, tenders and projects in the best way possible and to manage the vessels technically in the most effective and cost-efficient manner.
Their fleet boasts some of the largest, most innovative and most technically advanced pipelay vessels in the world, soon to be expanded by the world's largest vessel. The Service Engineer (Piping & Mechanical) is responsible for the maintenance, repairs and commissioning of all piping equipment on board our vessels and across our yards near Rotterdam.
In the role of Service Engineer, you will have the opportunity to help develop an effective and efficiently run unit that provides key support services to their vessels and equipment. This exciting and challenging role offers a chance to work all over the world, with a variety of projects, challenges and opportunities for personal development.
Perform maintenance and repairs to on board piping systems;
Troubleshoot at an advanced level;
Assist with modifications to on board piping systems;
Plan work preparation of piping projects: making diagrams, isometrics, material lists and planning;
Control production and installation of piping (systems);
Update technical drawings and pipe diagrams;
Create a professional service report after each job;
Grow knowledge and develop expertise in order to advise technical staff and crew;
Collaborate with different office departments and crew on board;
Ensure administration and registration of all inspected equipment is up to date;
Assume responsibility for a safe and efficient execution of works on board and on site;
Execute other duties as required.
Skills & Experience
Technical BSc (HTS) degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;
Welding training;
Proficient in AutoCAD;
Previous specialist experience;
Experience in pipe engineering and building piping systems, and proven knowledge of isometrics;
Previous experience on board vessels and/or at shipyards;
Independent professional who is also a great team worker;
Good command of English and Dutch, both written and spoken;
Computer literate;
Lives in the greater Rotterdam area;
Willingness to travel (minimum 50% of the time).
This is a permanent position.
The salary for this position is negotiable.
