They are currently recruiting for the position of Contracts & Procurement Manager, based in Reading, UK.
Job Description
The jobholder is accountable for C&P at our client's head office in Reading, ensuring the role of C&P in value creation, control and safety management is fully leveraged, specifically:
Championing the Group HSSE agenda, and demonstrating safety leadership in C&P.
Ensuring contractor selection, award and performance management processes drive optimal HSSE performance.
Ensuring effective delivery of the outsourced contract activities, shaping the direction of the outsourced team and managing service levels (utilizing KPIs and performance incentives) to ensure that company receives the contracted service.
Delivering ongoing value enhancement through savings targets agreed with the category leads and C&P management.
Responsible for the delivery of sustained improvements in the C&P scorecard.
Working with category leads, influencing Asset C&P teams to align with Group contracting strategies for Indirects, and providing resource as required.
Educating internal stakeholders to ensure they support the strategy, and are aware of their and C&P's roles and remits.
Ensuring budgetary cover is secured from C&P and major stakeholders.
Supporting the development of the Category Plan for TVP, including the segmentation of spend into appropriate categories.
Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand and help shape demand with the Category Leads.
Providing market intelligence through the outsource provider.
Ensuring robust process and the compliance with company Standards and Guidelines throughout the tendering and bid evaluation phases.
Coordinating with TVP / Assets to determine the optimal market approach.
Establishing and maintaining effective C&P processes which ensure the TVP C&P activities, including the outsourced service delivery, are carried out in compliance with Group policies and the new company C&P Standard and Guidelines..
Undertaking due diligence to mitigate risk from supplier selection through to contract execution.
Ensuring C&P activities are executed utilizing systems as defined in the Group C&P systems strategy (eg SAP, Procon).
Ensuring appropriate engagement with Legal occurs to deliver robust contracts.
Ensuring implementation of robust Contractor Performance Management (CPM) and Contractor Relationship Management (CRM) Processes.
Monitoring & reviewing Indirects outsource performance.
Benchmarking C&P activities to assure effective performance.
Establishing external relationships with cross-industry peers to maintain knowledge and understanding of the business environment and developments in C&P theory and practice, assessing their impact and maximizing the benefits to Group.
Skills & Experience
Proven track record of delivery, having developed and managed a wide range of successful outcomes and contracts in various environments and contributed to customers' success.
Evidence of being able to manage diverse teams of people and stakeholders within challenging and diverse environments; ideally will have led a C&P team in a global organization.
Evidence of having contributed to and led the implementation of complex contracting strategies and agreements which added value to the business.
Knowledge of managing an outsourced resourcing contract, preferably for procurement services.
Experienced in working and being influential internally at GM level, and externally with senior managers of suppliers and contractors, to create a shared agenda.
Energetic, enthusiastic individual with a passion for leading change and driving C&P excellence into the business.
Fully competent in all phases of the C&P process, with full understanding of company tools & techniques and relevant regulatory / legislative requirements.
Demonstrates full understanding of HSSE requirements and knows how to apply them within C&P context.
Highly developed quantitative, analytical and project management ability.
Proven effective networker with evidence of developing and building constructive working relationships, whilst maintaining objectivity and pragmatism.
Noted for commercial acumen, creativity, clarity of communication, and conceptual thinking ability.
Strong communication, networking, influencing and inter-personal skills with the professional credibility and cultural sensitivity to represent C&P with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
This is a contract position.
The rate for this position is negotiable.
