Our client is a major Oil & Gas Operating company with a unique offering covering strategic operations worldwide. Employing over 4,000 personnel they operate with a focus on oil sands, conventional exploration and development and unconventional gas

They are currently recruiting for the position ofr Cost Analyst, based in Aberdeenshire

Responsibilities will include:
Prepare and further develop Monthly Cost Reports that help the business understand and control OPEX spend.
Hold regular meetings with Budget Holders in order to help them better understand, manage and control their budgets; provide accurate VOWD/Reforecasts/Variance Analysis.
For OPEX spend assist in budget preparation by creation of templates and coordinating partner and corporate budgets to meet set deadlines. Assist in the preparation and presentation of budget material for internal and partner review.
Responsible for ensuring the ledger reflects the correct position for OPEX spend and the accruals, recodes and allocations are carried out in a timely and accurate manner.
Provide cover for other team members within the Producing Ops group during vacation and short term project work.
Develop strong working relationship with all members of the asset team, representing financial matters in this sphere of activity.
Support Cost Management Initiative by generating ideas and helping ensure that process changes are successfully embedded in organisation.
Identify areas for improvement and concern.
Ad-hoc - duties as requested

Qualifications & Training
Accountancy qualification (ACCA or CIMA) - Part Qualified (Preferable)

Skills/Experience
Ability to plan and prioritise in order to meet numerous tight and sometimes conflicting deadlines.
Ability to perform a critical review of financial information
Oil industry experience preferred.
Experience of accounting for Joint Venture & Operations accounting preferred
Experience of preparing Management reporting in a timely accurate manner
Experience of budgeting for Field assets
Excellent systems skills required - SAP experience preferred
