Our client is a leading energy services company to the global oil and gas industry. With a track record spanning over 40 years, they specialise in a broad range of specialist services for the entire oilfield lifecycle.

They are currently recruiting for the position of Principal Engineer, based in Kintore Aberdeenshire

Responsibilities will include:
Assess design brief to produce the best solution to project requirements, considering, timescale, cost, safety, current client and industry standards.
Integrate products from within the group to achieve said solution and offer external product solutions to complete project brief.
Chair design review in accordance with the quality system.
Creation and control of company standards and specifications.
Verify design work to produce required project documentation, drawings, calculations, procedures, reports etc.
Approve work of colleagues for project sign off.
Attend client meetings, if requested.
Attend testing and/or installation of company equipment offsite
Incident investigation of company equipment and or procedures as required.
Check integrity of tender documents in support of the bid team
Liaise with other principal engineers within the other groups of the company to gain experience of company product lines and how to explore new markets with existing technology or combining technologies.
Offer support and technical guidance to all members of the team to aid the growth and development of the company

Education
Essential 
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)

Preferred
Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
Chartership with recognised engineering body

Experience
Essential 
Oil and Gas industry or relevant industry
2D and 3D drawing packages
Mathematical analysis using classic methods and software packages
Experience with, or knowledge transferrable to, at least one company product line
Knowledge of structural design, hydraulic systems and control systems
Familiar with LOLER, ATEX, PED, API

Preferred
Proficiency in use of PDM systems
Basic project management skills: CTR creation; scheduling; monitoring; and pricing
Experience of working in subsea hardware or tooling design
Offshore experience in an operational, service, or survey, installation and commissioning role
Familiar with Microsoft Dynamics AX or similar ERP system
