QHSE Engineer


Our client is an expert in the execution of large and complex projects, providing worldwide support to clients from the conceptual design stage to engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning.

They are currently recruiting for the position of QHSE Engineer, based in Delft.

Job Description
The department ensures compliance with QA/HSE management systems and related policies at all levels within the organization. The QHSE Engineer supports and advises on the implementation of the QHSE management system and specific project requirements at a project level and supports the review, design and implementation of a multi-faceted corporate management system on a corporate level.

Ensure that the established QHSE management systems are implemented and maintained in accordance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISM standards, and applicable laws and regulations;
Support and advise the Project Manager and discipline engineers on QHSE matters on a project basis;
Support and advise vessel crew on QHSE matters;
Monitor compliance with corporate and project QHSE requirements and locally applicable rules and regulations;
Liaise with client QHSE professionals on the implementation of project specific QHSE requirements;
Lead HAZID and risk assessments for both commercial and internal projects, and follow up on actions raised;
Review project environmental impact assessments and advise on their implementation;
Keep track of industry and regulatory developments, and proactively identify opportunities to improve the QHSE management systems;
Conduct internal and external audits as required by Company management system and project requirements;
Promote QHSE awareness internally;
Travel to onshore and offshore workplaces to conduct inspection, audit and incident investigations as required;
Liaise with external parties on matters concerning the QHSE management systems.

Skills & Experience
BSc/MSc degree in Safety Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent;
Previous experience on QHSE matters, preferably in the offshore/marine industry;
Experience and knowledge of maintaining and operating management systems to the guiding standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISM and OHSAS 18001);
Certified lead auditor in some/all of the ISM, OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems;
Familiarity with HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA and other risk assessment techniques;
Experience of conducting incident investigations;
Understanding of international HSE regulations applicable in the offshore/marine industry;
Experience working with safety behavioral programs and/or cultural change processes;
Strong communication skills;
Good command of the English language, both written and spoken;
Fit for offshore work;
Willingness to travel.
This is a permanent position.

The salary for this position is negotiable.
