They are currently recruiting for the position of Technical Inspector - Mechanical, based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Job Description
The Technical Inspector (Mechanical) is responsible for carrying out a wide range of technical inspections and surveys, as well as general liaison duties on modification and maintenance operations.
Support the Technical Superintendents and the Vessel Management Teams;
Familiarize with applications in Oracle such as plant maintenance system and stock control;
Monitor stock of spare parts required for projects under your responsibility;
Investigate possible cost reductions and propose or implement savings without adversely impacting vessel uptime;
Prepare detailed budgets for approval for modifications and investments, and control these during execution and report actuals after project completion;
Liaise with flag state and classification society as required;
Communicate and co-ordinate with other departments and third party suppliers;
Keep technical documentation and history about vessel and equipment up to date.
Skills & Experience
BSc/MSc degree in Marine Technology, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;
Previous relevant experience within the offshore, dredging, construction or shipbuilding industry;
Knowledge of rules and regulations of classification agencies and IMO;
Good command of the English language, both written and spoken;
Accurate, flexible and cost-aware professional with a creative attitude;
Willingness to travel.
This is a permanent position.
