They are currently recruiting for the position of Trainee Project/Field Engineers, based in Aberdeen-shire.

Job Description

The Trainee Project/Field Engineer shall report directly to the Project Manager or in his / her absence the Operations Manager. In addition to close communication with the operations team the position shall involve ongoing dialogue and interaction internally with the support services department and field supervisors, and externally with Clients and regulatory bodies (e.g. HSE, SEPA, DNV, etc.)

The Trainee Project/Field Engineer shall participate in all aspects of Company business as part of a planned development programme, which shall include multi-discipline training, practical field experience and secondment to key departments.

Assist the operations and project management teams in providing multi-discipline technical and engineering support for projects across the full range of services provided by company. (This shall include the preparation of procedures, method statements, risk assessments, COSHH assessments, certification packages, drawings, quality plans, etc as required in the compilation of project specific work packs.)
Assist the operations and support services teams in selecting appropriate resources, processing mobilisation requests, materials/service requisitions and other associated pre-mobilisation planning / preparation activities.
Assist the Operations Co-ordinator in organising the personnel resource to ensure that all projects have the correct skill mix and expertise to complete the work in a safe and efficient manner.
Assist the Operations Co-ordinator in the development of key Client accounts through close attention to service delivery.
Assist the Operations Co-ordinator in providing technical evaluation and feasibility of proposed works where applicable or organising involvement of operations / support services if required.
Assist the Operations Co-ordinator / Project Engineer(s) in carrying out pre-mobilisation and on-site project briefings, project audits and progress reports. Also in-house inductions and discipline specific training for company and client personnel.
Assist in compilation of Client pre-qualification documents, project pricing, tender submissions and the likes.
Support the sales team technically and participate in ongoing sales initiatives.
Undertake field surveys as required (onshore and offshore).
Undertake field assessment and evaluation of company performance through participation in, or observation of, live projects and through Client feedback.
On-site participation and/or supervision of projects as required (onshore and offshore).
Actively participate in the ongoing audit, review and continuous improvement of Company systems, procedures and methods of work. This shall include compliance with all aspects of competence management in accordance with OPITO requirements, quality management in accordance with ISO 9001:2008 requirements, environmental management in accordance with ISO 14001:2004 requirements, safety management in accordance with OHSAS 18001:2007 requirements, asbestos surveying management in accordance with ISO 17020:1998 requirements; and all other applicable accreditations or standards.
Obtain formal Client feedback as part of the project close out process, through completion of FPAL assessments or company Customer Questionnaires.
Promotion of Company services and Client liaison.

This is a permanent position.

The salary for this position is negotiable.
