They are currently recruiting for the position of Construction Engineer - Deck Structural Engineer, based in Baku Azerbaijan

Responsibilities will include:
Promoting project HSSE objectives
Lead the Construction team Lessons Learned Process
Participate in the Topsides team Risk Management Process
Lead structural, architectural & civil task risk assessment meetings
Participate in start of shift tool box talks on work site hazards
Provide assistance to the deck build contractor in the resolution of issues and site queries
Witnessing and approving site acceptance tests
Assist Quality department in assurance and control activities
Review and acceptance of contractor construction procedures
Review and acceptance of contractor procedures for fabrication, assembly and erection of the Topsides facilities steel and architectural works
Monitor contractor performance and highlight any defaults to line manager
Attend project meetings as required
Plan and schedule the technical & job development of Azeri National personnel
Participate in the reporting process on construction achievement for both schedule and cost
Liaise with contractor's construction & structural steel management on all construction related issues
Compilation of reports as required.

Bachelor Degree in Engineering
Experience
Essential
Significant experience in oil and gas / petrochemical or relevant international projects, in a similar role leading to development of the following skill sets:
a) In leading teams of supervisors, tradesmen in civil and structural steel trades, including coaching in installation techniques, etc.
b) Planning activities on a daily / weekly basis that are linked into project targets and schedule
c) Knowledge of work site and work group management of resources by activity
d) Resolution of technical issues at site level while liaising with engineering
e) Employing encouragement process & techniques to enhance performance from employees under your control
Know how to read relevant structural engineering drawings specifications, regulations and codes
Ability to understand logic linked planning schedules (in P3 / P6 or similar)
Ability to communicate effectively with contractor's/line managers/ and supervision in English language (oral and written).
Sound knowledge of HSSE plans & control of work procedures
Keen awareness the managing of behavioural based site safety programmes
Understanding of deck structure engineering and construction disciplines, particularly with regard to offshore & onshore Oil and Gas projects and operations
Working IT skills (use of MS office, etc.)
Desirable
Degree in Engineering relevant discipline
Chartered Engineer is desired
