Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Field Mechanical/Piping Supervisor, based in Algeria.

Job Description

Take an active role in ensuring that strict adherence to HSE aims and objectives (In accordance with Project Safety Execution Plan, Golden Rules, etc. is given high priority and visibility amongst all contractors' and project personnel.
Conduct site HSE advanced Safety Conversations (SC) and Safety Observations (SO).
Stop and report any unsafe practices.
Adopts a pro-active role to promote HSE aims and objectives.
Audit & Monitor construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities, based on agreed QA/QC deliverables and Work Methods.
As representative, witness tests and sign off on hold points.
Active auditing and monitoring the Construction Sub Contractor's quality management system by regular surveillance, witnessing, review of various inspection and testing activities, and recording such inspections and tests as appropriate.
Ensure that the necessary As Built Drawings, Operating and Maintenance manuals and test dossiers are in place for handover of the completed facilities.
Acts as focal point for Project audits related to construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning matters.
Liaise closely with Engineering, Procurement, Commissioning functions within client to obtain latest information and anticipate any impact on Construction and Commissioning targets.
Liaise with Operations group (as necessary) to ensure smooth hand over of completed plant and facilities.
Participate in Project audits and Peer Assist, as requested.
Keeps Site Job Representative fully informed of all aspects of site activities related to prescribed roles and responsibilities.

Skills & Experience

University degree in Engineering related discipline or equivalent.
Extensive experience in Oil & Gas Industry.
Proven expertise in chosen discipline
Previous experience in a similar position
Strong track record in HSE leadership, commitment, and delivery is essential.
Working knowledge of Industry codes & standards.
Working in an environment where cultures and values are different from your own.
Some command of the French Language.
Team player, committed to building good working relationships
This is a contract position.

The rate for this position is negotiable.
