Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Operator


Our client is an expert in the execution of large and complex projects, providing worldwide support to clients from the conceptual design stage to engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning.

They are currently recruiting for the position of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Operator, based in Delft, the Netherlands.

Job Description
The NDT Operator works within the Pipeline Production Department (PPD). The department is responsible for the preparation of all offshore welding, non-destructive testing and coating. The NDT Operator reports directly to the Supervisor. While working on specific projects, he/she will also report to the person appointed by the Unit Head NDT Services.

Deliver the NDT scope of an assigned project to a world-class standard;
Execute NDT services, including but not limited to pre-qualification, performance, quality audits and technical presentations;
Supervise NDT subcontractor(s), when required;
Discuss with the Unit Head NDT Services the timing and duration of NDT-specific activities/services being undertaken at Heusden/Ijmuiden/TRC for current and/or upcoming projects, and communicate the status of welding activities to Quality Control and Welding Engineers;
Perform NDT crosschecks on pipeline and construction work on board vessels and at work sites;
Provide technical input and quantity estimates for NDT methods, equipment and consumables required for project preparations and production;
Report to Unit Head NDT Services regarding status of preparations, execution, problems foreseen or encountered, and improvements of current or upcoming projects;
Verify NDT services are performed in accordance with the applicable safety and environmental procedures, rules and regulations, as applicable at work sites;
Maintain and expand, where possible, a technical and practical knowledge of (offshore) pipeline NDT and construction work, including procedures, personnel qualifications and new or modified techniques, as well as a working knowledge of welding techniques;
Identify areas of exposure or improvement within the department or its objectives.

Skills & Experience
Minimum MTS level in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;
Supplemented by ISO9712 Level 2 in UT, MPI and DPI;
Good command of the English language, both written and spoken;
Practical and able to organize and plan own work;
Flexible and dedicated;
Willingness to travel.
This is a permanent position.

The salary for this position is negotiable.
